In due respect to those who have posted regarding Memorial Day, Memorial Day (formerly Decoration Day) commemorates those who have given their lives while in the military service.
While I honor those who have served (of which I am one) and those who are serving, I think we should remember that the founding purpose of Memorial Day was aimed at those who died and not those who have just served or are just serving.
Having noted that, I have great respect and admiration for those in our Military who are doing all they can to help preserve our United States, our culture and our freedoms.
