My Ride: 04 525i, 04 Dinan M3
Default

Well I went to a local e90post meet earlier, there was also a really nice 1 series. This guy has a 335i with juice box 3, it apparently adds about 100hp. I believe they have juicebox for 535 right? I rode in his car, and let me tell you, this thing is a absolute rocket/beast compared to my car. There was 4 people in the car, so I can only imagine driving it. After riding in that it really makes me want to buy the 335I sedan with that juicebox mod. My question for you guys, is how would a 535 compare to this or a 545. My car is frankly underpowered, and I would love to have something as fast as that thing.

Just got back from the dealer's and was able to check out/test the 335i hardtop with my wife. One thing: that thing is very powerful!

I didn't like one thing though: it's a bit small for someone using an E60 as a daily driver.

The price we got was $104,000 dollars with about every option there is.

On the way home, we talked about it a bit and still can't decide on it easily. Mostly since it's a bit cramped for the people inside compared to the E60.....

But yeah, Tex_Phil, go ahead and get one!!!

All dynos posted on E90post and N54tech have proven otherwise. It is the other way around.

The Dinan is the more conservative tune, compared to the JB3 and Procede.

I wouldn't say the Jb3 add's 100hp's alone, but with some other mods you could get there. Have a read thru e90 posts and/or n54tech.com for numbers and info about the jb3. I think you kinda inadvertently began 2 major debates: 535i (I6 TT) vs. 545/50 (V8) discussion and the ecu flash vs. piggyback discussion

I cannot speak for the jb3, but I just put in a jb+ (platform is between a jb2 and jb3). I've had it for about a week now, I can honestly say my e60 pulls harder/more torque. There is less of a drop off thru the gears, throttle response seems to be much smoother. I went ahead and add'd an rpi scoop and drop in-filter a few days ago also...noticed my wheels studdered a bit the few times i slammed the throttle after install... I defintely am enjoying my e60 even more now...

All I can say is do your research. I spent a number of hours on the above sites mentioned (e60.net, n54tech and e90posts) researching the different options. Considering warranty, bang for your buck, performance, and peace of mind...as always, both are fantastic vehicles in their own right...
