Ronnie James Dio was the man ! He was the original lead singer for (Ritchie) Blackmore's Rainbow in the late 70s. I saw a few of their shows
when I was in college....Dio had a really strong voice and was also known as a great guy off stage. I was able to meet him and get his autograph on a photo my buddy took of him at a previous show.

Mel, you're such a young girl!!

He also was the lead singer for Black Sabbath after Ozzie Osbourne was tossed out of the band....

Here's another link where you can really hear his vocal style and strength too!

Don't I get a "such a young boy" reference?

I was a fan of Rainbow, but it was the Graham Bonnet years (1979->) when Since You've Been Gone and All Night Long were massive hits. Before those two hits Rainbow were nothing, barely troubling the charts. Similarly, Black Sabbath basically became obscure after Ozzy left.

Not to worry about the "Young Girl" reference, it was directed at Melimel not you!
