Sorry I didn't see this sooner. I'm from Honolulu and can help you out. PM me with any questions.

Off the top of my head: Boots & Kimo in Kailua is great for breakfast (the best pancakes). Also Bogart's in Kapahulu is pretty good (I always get one of the varieties of eggs benedict). Both places are not fancy, but have good menus and a local following.

If you want fancy the Ihilani has a good brunch as do most other fancy hotels.

Don;t hesitate to ask about anything. Ive lived here forever! I can also let you know about the local BMW meet ups if you are interested. Not many E60's though... =( They do cars & coffee every 2 weeks.
