For the last few weeks I have been thinking about getting a Radar Jammer/Radar. What is the best? And what is them most cheapest and efective one to get?

I have not gotten a single ticket yet but the max I went with my E60 was 100 on the Hutchinson River Parkway. Just wanting to have some fun had a close call this morning as well so you know.

Just an idea.

Also what is the difference between a jammer and a normal radar?

You're going to get two opinions here: Valentine 1 and Passport 8500

In most states a jammer is illegal because it jams the radar whereas the detector just detects radar in the area. Anyways, I'd get the V1, the arrows are very helpful!

Just did a quick search the Valentine is a bit out of range, I could buy replica M5 rims for just $200 more lol. I think the Passport 8500 is perfect for me. But I am still interested why the V1 is "better". And what do people here have?

You are speaking of two different devices..radar can be detected only, ie a V1 which is the best, imho...laser is different and can be detected and potentially jammed, and there are several on the market that friends use..depends on what you want to protect and where you are...the V1 detects both radar and laser, but with laser, if u detect it uve been likely hit, unlike radar which can be detected in distance with proper equiptment...this stuff aint cheap, but cheaper than the big ticket and lawyer and insurance!

V1 is well worth the price IMHO. I've had friends who have all said damn V1 is expensive I'm going to go with a cheaper one. 1 ticket later.. DAMN wish I bought the V1 and both ended up buying it anyways.

The V1 is worth the money!

definately get the V1...but it will not protect you from laser (it will detect it but it'll probably be too late)..since they shoot the laser

i don't think anything will protect you from the laser unless you're getting a jammer (which i believe is illegal in NY). like the m630 said, if it's detected you're most likely SOL.
