In my neighborhood the Home Depot is old, dirty, run down, with lousy lighting, and poor stock / selection, etc. The Lowes store is new, clean, and well staffed.
There are only a few DIY'er tasks I have the time or desire to tackle so I guess I'm not a typical Home Depot or Lowes customer. I ESPECIALLY do not like having to park around all those people loading lumber etc etc into trucks.
