Here in Texas they cannot pull you over for no front plate, they can ticket you for it, but only if you were stopped for something else.
I'm in TX and I wish that was the case. I got pulled over specifically for no front plate. Driving on a back road, cop was coming straight at me, made a U-turn and pulled me over for no front plate.

Same thing happened to me, going through Copper Canyon (small town between Flower Mound and Corinth)

Too Funny...Ballin!
Maybe I should just put it on and use the $124 for an RPI Scoop.

I was pulled over this morning for not having a front plate!!!
Motorcycle Cop says either put it on or next time he'll give me the $124.00 ticket.
He did say that I have a nice car and it does look cool without one, but it's still the law in Washington State as he pointed it out on the Registration paperwork.
Oh well, I like living on the edge...we'll see what happens.
Back when I lived in Louisiana DMV only gave you one plate to put on the back, no front plate. Most people had theme plates in the front (LSU, etc).

I've been living in VA for 4 yrs now and only got one ticket, it was when I stopped to pay the toll and this joker cop was there waiting to get some more money from taxpayers. He gave me a ticket for not having the front plate. Another time i got a speeding ticket the cop didn't tell me anything about that, or maybe he did, but didnt give me a ticket. I guess that's up to the cop's mood that day.

Is that right?

I've never ran a front plate, and never been pulled over once. I live in a Area where cops are everywhere because they are within a small jurisdiction.

$124!!! isn't no plate is only a fix-it ticket or is it just here in cali?

I got pulled over for no plate and I only had to pay $25 with the signed off ticket.

I am here in Orange County and have only received a front license ticket (not fix-it) for $30 on my other car. I don't believe the cops here really care about it all that much here, and the citation was just out of convenience... as I did not notice a fire hydrant nearby. So it was a fire hydrant violation ($30) and front license ticket ($30).

Otherwise, I have been stopped plenty of times for other things and cops have never said a thing. Here in Irvine, Newport Beach, and Aliso Viejo, you see plenty of BMWs, MBs, and Audis running around with no front plates. If I exaggerate a little, it's actually a more common sight.
