It looks as if the bottom of the two rails was pushed up on impact. I can't say for sure but it seems like if the rail was much lower or more secure, the crash result may have been different...

They work perfectly, And even in this case it did what it was supposed to do.
Unfortunately, a sportscar is too low and drives partly under it.
Also a problem for bikers.

Roads that are used by a lot of bikers often have them doubled. One additional on the bottom...
