The car will be fine for everyday driving but atound the track the 335i's have been known to overheat and go into limp mode. Maybe they gave the newer ones a better oil cooler but I don't know.

My guess would be a tow truck!!
based on the above statements, I'm still pondering NE1 know of a fix for the overheating? How comparable is a track day to a day in the twisties?

Curb weight 335i coupe: 3571
Curb weight 535i: 3660

With ARS I find my 535i is as nimble as any 3 series. The materials in the 5-series are so much better than in the 3.

After owning a 5, I'm not going back. The extra wheelbase of the 5 makes the car feel more planted to the road.

I'm considering a 335 as well. I can't stop thinking of a 335 I rode in with a JB3. I would probably get the sedan though.

A 90 pound weight difference is miniscule. Vlad, sounds like it is test drive time.

They do have a different feel. The 3er has a shorter wheel base, is narrower, and shorter overall. The 5 is like a 3 with outriggers. The 5 has an aluminum front end and and the 3 steel. So the 3 tends to be nose heavy and light in the rear during weight transfer. The 5 is very neutral.

+1 don't do it without testing a 535 also.

Hmm when I tested a 3 coupe a few months ago, it felt VERY neutral...

What do you think about the new Z4 with the TT I6 (300horses and 300lb-ft stock!) and an M-DCT dual-clutch transmission?

I'm looking at leases and the word is the new Z4 leases are really good right now through the month of August. I haven't done ANY research on the car though - have no idea what it handles like. Its a 2 seater, but since I only need a car as a "toy", I don't really care if it has a lot of space at all. Plus, it might be fun to drive smth small for some 30 months and then prolly get the F10 535 or 550...
