Mercedes-Benz CL550 FTW

Parents have the S550, I love it.
I always thought the CL550 was a great looking car. What's the handling like? I can't imagine that, with its massive heft, it could keep pace with a number of the other cars on the OP's list in the twisities. But then again, in South Florida that wouldn't really matter because there are no twisties (memebers of my family have lived there since the 1970's).

Hey guys, I drove a new M3 tonight w/DCT. Absolutely fantastic car. Gorgeous looks and monster power. The exhaust sounds great and that DCT is so seemless it is amazing.

Only question I have: Can it be driven in snow w/snow tires? I drive my 545 in the snow w/snow tires, and I don't have any problem with it. How much different in the snow would the M3 be from my 545?

I've decided that my next car has to have 4 seats, so all my time spent over on Lotustalk and reading reviews of the Cayman are now for naught. I also am ready to go back to a coupe or convertible, so 2 doors only.

Basically, I would just buy the newest model I could afford from this list, and depending on price, I may or may not keep my 545 as a DD. I am going to create an excel spreadsheet with all the data for each car, and then create a subjective and objective scoring system to rank them. I have to find some way to decide whether a brand new 135 would be better than a 2 year old M3 or a 4 year old M6 or an 8-year old DB7. It's tough. Note, I intentionally left the Maserati off the list because of the 15,000 mile clutch-replacement that they require and the $500 oil changes.

Here's the list right now. Let me know if I am missing anything. Thx.

Aston-Martin DB7
Audi S5
Audi TTS
BMW 135
BMW 650
BMW M3
BMW M6
Infiniti G37
Jaguar XKR
Mercedes-Benz CL550
Nissan GTR
Porsche 911 S (2005+)
Porsche 911 Turbo (1996/1997)
Porsche 911 Turbo (2000-2003)
hmmm, imho, you are going about this tooo business like, cars are about emotions not rational thinking!!! there is no way that one can at the one hand consider a 135i as a viable option vs an M6 or GTR or 911, what do expect to gain by this exercise as it is 100% subjective??? There is no comparison between a new 135i or a 4year old M6 or an 8 year of DB7, each car is very very different and made for different reasons, and the costs will vary widely in terms of initial cost and maintenance. I think you should pick a car you love, work to afford it and then buy it, not buy a car that you think you may be able to afford if you get just the right year and just the right mileage to be as "affordable" as a new 135, which may be your budget?? when you find a car you want and love, you dont look at the runner ups, you go for yours and do what you gotta do to get it....good luck
