Man... F the PS3. How long will it be before there are decent games? I mean, come on... new systems are painful. The only thing that's even remotely interesting about it is Sony's commitment to open source and Linux on the PS3. If the dev community is as active as I think it will be, it could be a very interesting platform for all sorts of things. Better yet, it could force Microsoft to open up the 360.

Sadly, I'm getting far more enjoyment out of playing NES roms on my Motorola Q than playing any other stuff... and I have a PSP, GBA, PS2, PC, etc...
I remember I got a PS2 when they came out - got lucky and got a kit from Amazon.com. They had a specific time and date when you could basically go to a URL and flog it with the hope of maybe getting the chance to buy one. I got lucky. Had to buy 3 games, an extra controller, and a memory card. It all came to about $500. I remember the games sucked, so I left them unopened and returned them to Best Buy the day after Christmas. In the US, that is the one day of the year when any retailer will take back just about anything without a receipt.
Any retailer in the US will take back anything if you are frisky enough.

I've seen a lady returning a dress without tags and receipt and obviously worn, she made such a big fuss out of it that the manager of the store just give her a refund.

Yeah, I know some people in retail management - friends of my sister who claim that it is pretty common practice for women to go back to stores once a sale has commenced and ask for the reduction in price to be refunded to them.

So... basically let's say they buy a garment for $250. It goes on sale for $175, and they go back and ask for the $75!!! And they get it!!! I'm not talking a few days either - it could be like 3 months or so.

Personally, I think it is pretty questionable and I'd never sacrifice the dignity to do that, but apparently it is a very real part of US retail dynamics. Crazy huh? Buy and enjoy what's new now, -and- benefit from the sale price when shops are trying to unload product after it's not the hottest newest thing. About as close to having your cake and eating it too that I've ever heard about.

i heard that ebay is regulating how ps3 is sold on their site. i think if you have a satisfaction rating of 98 % or above you can sell as many as you want but not over a certain price. and if you rating is under 98% then you can only sell one. something like that. in my opinion, i think its crazy that people are lining up for a game system. i love my video games, i even have a ms pac man arcade game in my house, but im not camping out to give someone 600 bucks. if it was a BMW, different story

So, I guess everyone has heard about the mayhem yesterday? People were trampled on and shot at. Just for a toy.

Good thing I'm not the type that needs to have "it" first.

People were trampled on and shot at? Why? Anyways, have anyone on the forum gotten their hands on that sexy system?
