They are selling it here in HK today for 480 USD approx.

The price of parallel imports from Japan is selling for around 1390 USD which I think is a bargain compare to what I am seeing on ebay.

But I am not those people who are crazy about having thing at lauch dates, same case for the E60. Let's wait until all the bugs and glitch are fix and of course a promotion will come by soon, hopefully.

Man... F the PS3. How long will it be before there are decent games? I mean, come on... new systems are painful. The only thing that's even remotely interesting about it is Sony's commitment to open source and Linux on the PS3. If the dev community is as active as I think it will be, it could be a very interesting platform for all sorts of things. Better yet, it could force Microsoft to open up the 360.

Sadly, I'm getting far more enjoyment out of playing NES roms on my Motorola Q than playing any other stuff... and I have a PSP, GBA, PS2, PC, etc...

I remember I got a PS2 when they came out - got lucky and got a kit from Amazon.com. They had a specific time and date when you could basically go to a URL and flog it with the hope of maybe getting the chance to buy one. I got lucky. Had to buy 3 games, an extra controller, and a memory card. It all came to about $500. I remember the games sucked, so I left them unopened and returned them to Best Buy the day after Christmas. In the US, that is the one day of the year when any retailer will take back just about anything without a receipt.
