Hey everybody!!
I am planning a cross country from AZ to SC. I'm thinking sometime first week of October.
My planned route is I10E to I20E to I85N to Greenville, SC. I'm very excited!! My logest trip in my
545i was phx to lax. I'm sure my 545i won't dissapoint me!!

I'm going there to see my fiance and I'll be staying there until mid Jan 2010 and I decided to take my car.
Rather than shipping, I would much prefer to drive and enjoy the long long stretch of no traffic highways in TX!!

Anyone around Greenville area? Any good experiences from Century BMW? I can't find any indy shop from bimrs.org.
And yes I am planning for performance driving school as well. Thank you Jesus for let my fiance live 15min away from
bmw center

Oh and I almost lost the point of this topic, anyone who lives in(or take this highways daily basis) area where I'll be passing
have any advise for speed traps/ what to watch out for? BTW I do have V1
Take a look at google map to see my route.

Any reason why you are going north through Dallas instead of staying on I-10 and driving through Houston and New Orleans?

Either way, be careful coming in to ATL. GSP patrols I-20 and I-85 frequently. Enjoy your trip.

According to google map, that would be about 150miles more than what i planned route. Actually shortest route is to take
I40 but I do not wish to go cross Oklahoma for some reason. So next best route is what i'm about to drive(about 100miles more)
then what you suggest is another 150miles added to my route.

If you go North of Dallas to Denton, you can visit our very own mrfva (Frank)! I'm sure he would buy you dinner and put you up for the night too!!

I can't help any with the long drive but once in the area there are lots of nice roads to drive and nearby tracks for HPDEs. Especially upstate SC, GA, and western NC. The Tail of the Dragon (rt 129 on the TN/NC border) is the most incredible and intense section of road I've ever been on.

Of course there is the BMW Performance Center where all the BMW driving schools are. The SC BMWCCA holds events there as well. The tracks are Road Atlanta, Carolina Motorsport Park (Kershaw SC), and VIR in Southern VA.

Quick update:

I just made to Greenville, SC yesterday. I left AZ on Saturday 6:15pm and made to SC on Monday 1PM.
About 2100miles and according to the trip computer, avg speed was 73.1mph and fuel consumption of 27.6MPG.
Pretty good fuel economy. Now, I'm going in to Century-BMW for an oil change(just crossed 7k miles after the cross country).
Lets see how nice/horrible they are.
