Pictures from my trip

Just got back from 5 days of hunting in Montana on my friends ranch. Weather ranged from 19 degrees F on the first day, to 44 on the last. The country is incredibly big and never ceases to amaze me, no matter how many times I'm there.
The ranch has beaver, muskrat, grouse, pheasant, bear, elk, deer, coyotes and other game animals. It's slightly over a thousand acres.
As usual, we went out for antelope and deer. However, the only time I could only get off was towards the end of antelope season, and with the hunting pressure, the herds consolidate and move around a lot more than usual. We hunted a lot of ground and didn't see any.
Had a bit better luck with deer. We rode ATV's
and glassed a herd at 743 yards out (lased). We dismounted, and worked our way towards them. Wind was in our favor and so was the cover. There was a slight rise that hid our approach. Dropped my pack, binos and jacket and crawled up the rise, then belly crawled to a good firing position next to a 90-ish year old wooden hay wagon. Picked out a large doe that was broadside. It must have spotted me crawling, because the rest of the herd was eating, but she had alerted to my direction. Took the shot and whacked it in the lungs. She jumped and ran about 40-50 feet before going down.
Yes, I have pics of the deer, but it might not pass forum rules

Glad you had fun, Alex. Looks beautiful up there. As much as I'm addicted to this gun thing, I just can't and never will be able to get into game hunting. I just couldn't get myself to kill Bambi or Thumper
If the occasion ever (god forbid) presents itself, I'll be willing to unload on threatening/intruding two-legged varmints
