In Ireland you the car reg takes the following format:
NN AA NNNN
Where NN = The Year
AA = County
NNNN = Number of car registered in that county for that year
I've just booked the following for my ordered 520i to be collected in Feb.
"05 D 5201" D = Dublin you just have to pay ?300 to book the reg.

When I ordered mine in June I specified the speedo in KPH. I take it that is the default setting, now that the MPH - KPH change is happening on Jan 20.

Irish are doing little same than what Sweds did -60's. They changed from left to right hand trafic. First changed trucks, lorries and busses! Others came automaticly after that. 
In Ireland distances are in km and speed in mph, so that it's difficult to calculate when you are at your destination.
They are going to change that??
