Bud, year was that made? The one I'm thinking of was exactly the same as the 88 only black sub-dial and it was unobtainium. I think it was last year at the Basel show. Hmmm.

They show it on their current website.

These are the ones I would sell my kidneys for.

Nice. What's the difference b/w the 48 and the 104?

Production run and Strap I guess.. 104 (attached) is pretty nice too. I am considering ordering a black strap so I can play around with different looks.

Bonehead, you can't go wrong with either 104 or 88. Both are great pieces. I'd suggest you to try it on ur wrist first. Some models are heavier than others. I got 88 for my first PAM and still loving it. GMT, date and automatic function serve their purpose well. Now, be careful, once you go into Panerai, there's no way out especially with those straps...
PM me if you need any recommendation from good sellers. I don't know if you're planning to buy a brand new one or "used" one, but you can find a pretty good deal on the "used" ones. Just make sure to buy the seller, not the watch only.
For your pleasure..

Wow. You're the man! That 88 is so darn purrrty

Looking into a new one, be it a 104 or 88. Could you post here or PM me recs for good sellers? Been on paneristi.com. Very addicting.....

BTW, what kind of straps are those (the straps are just as addicting as the watches themselves!). Any recs there? Have my eye on a Greg Stevens.

Thanks bro. Greg Stevens is one of my fav strap makers. Met him once when he was in OC, super nice guy. His Crazy Horse strap is the most famous one. Gotta have one!
The strap on my 88 is Ted Su's. He's based in Taiwan, he's posting at paneristi. Love his ammo straps to death, beautiful smell and nice vintage touch.
On my 249, it's Rob Montana's strap. Very nice guy to deal with and awesome craftsmanship. Check ur PM for some refs.
