As any Mac user will tell you, Adobe has done an appalling job with their implementation of Flash in Mac OS X.
Take a look at this - http://rentzsch.github.com/clicktoflash/
This plug-in for Safari lets you select whether or not to allow the Flash component to run, to whitelist sites that you do want to allow for the Flash runtime, but more importantly it will let you use QuickTime rather than Flash for web videos.
Still a work in progress, but it it amazing how much easier browsing the web can be without those annoying flash ads (unless you choose to show them), made worse by Adobe's inability to write proper software

PS: I'll also send the link to some friends of mine that are still bitching about "Apple's poor Flash implementation" and still don't understand the phenomenon behind it.
