Hey Guys, I've got a non-E60 question.
I own a 2005 Acura MDX and I need new rims / tires. I put winters on my OEM 17" set and thought I would get a 2nd set for the summer. That said, I'm looking at an 18" x 7.5 MSR rim and a 255/15/18" Cooper tire. Rim & tire pictures below.
I've got 2 questions:
- can I put a 255/55/18" on a 7.5" rim? The say 8" is recommended, but the tire can accommodate 7"-9" rims.
- has anyone run Cooper Discoverer H/T Plus? Any feedback.
I'm getting the rim & tire set for $1300 CAD ($1000 US) which really helps my tight budget. I can't really find anything else comparable in that price range. They are definitely not high quality, but I'm not looking to invest too much on my MDX. That said, the MDX is our everyday driver and we use it for all out long-distance trips - so I don't want something bad either.
Just wanted to get your opinion on them. Thanks in advance!

What the heck is this Accura crap??
Secondly, we would appreciate you not making us read about ricers.
Thirdly, we have enough trouble reading and deciphering BMW problems.
Fartly, go back to the first three; my mother never taught me numbers past 3 or 4, and I get confused. LOL

First of all, this is a sacred BMW forum.

the guy is just asking for plain advice here from fellow e60 members. and it's not like he posted this on the e60 sub-forum even...so if you can help him out then write something useful....otherwise refrain from making comments that undermine others...
to Silver_545i, I have little idea about wheel measurements, but i'm sure someone will chime in soon...
and changing wheels does not make you a ricer...we have great people here who, besides 'deciphering BMW problems', will help you out with a whole lot of other things...in this case your Acura tires/wheels questions...
cheers!

Thanks trojan.525i! I thought z06bigbird was being a little harsh.
I really am not excited about purchasing cheap rims for my MDX and coming across as a ricer. But unfortunately, I don't have much choice here. I have to take my winter tires off in a few days and our budget is really tight right now. I did recently find Falken Ziex S/TZ01 tires in 255/55/18 that were just a little more than the Coopers, so at least I've got semi-decent tires. Now, I am looking for inexpensive, but decent quality rims. Most are 18" x 7.5", so I need to find out if they will sit well on those tires. Thanks!

i know little about acuras and the question, but to call him a ricer is hardly appropriate when a number of members here commit atrocities to their beautiful vehicles and people dont say anything to them, unless it is an M badge.
in the spirit of e60 forum.net, you can do anything to your vehicle you like, nobody will open their mouth until you put an ///M on it somewhere.
sorry i dont know the answer to your wheel question
