Yes yes yes...but people let's not forget smth (and i'm not trying to defend bmw). A GTR will never sound and never probably feel as refined and as an M3/M5/M6. It will never scream at 8300rpm and it will never make the same screaming sound, nor probably will ever feel so poised as a rwd car.

m5/m6 are sports lux cars, not small, light sports cars, they are no where in the same group as this thing....you do not compare cars on speed alone, otherwise the WRX types would blow away most and for alot less $$$$
every 1 knows BMW & MB dont do only sports car, if they did they will not live to this day. eg TVR and other sports car that is made and designed in UK.

....the link isnt working, but in motor trends print story on the gt-r, they note the C GT is still the fastest production car on the ring, at least as of the current months magazine
and as for the e46 m3 CSL, that is a modded car, we're only talking Prod cars here!! think what the C GT would do with an SC!!!

No question its going to kill the M3 and M5, the GT-R has supercar numbers. It won't even be close.
New GT-R got 7:38 around the "ring"
GT-R nurburgring video:
That beats cars like:
997 GT3
SLR Mclaren
Veyron
Ford GT
Z06
Zonda S
599 GTB
F430 F1
You have to remember this is a $69,000 car beating cars 3 and 4 times more expensive. Whether you like Nissan or not, you have to give them credit.
It has taken the "pound for pound" "dollar for dollar" title away from the Vette Z06.

Here is a GT-R review by Jermey Clarkson, I found on r35gtr.com.
"The GT-R hasn't just moved the goalposts, it's obliterated them."
"For all-round ability, I have no doubt the Nissan is the best car I have ever driven."
"The GTR turns in beautifully, whether neutral or under brakes, and grips forever - slippery surfaces seem to bring out the best in it. Time after time I left Turner (911 Turbo) behind as my four-wheel-drive system and traction control worked better out of wet corners - it wasn't just the fact that I could get on the power earlier. It was about confidence. The Nissan really is something special, and you get the impression that while a master driver could wring every last ounce of performance out of the 911, your mother could do the same in the GT-R..........................Does the Nissan's ability reduce the driving pleasure? Not at all. You can turn all the systems off if you so choose, and it's still supremely well balanced, no doubt a delight for a racing driver on a track."
"A bellow from the engine, a rush of revs, a gigantic accelerative force on my neck, bang the GT-R into fourth. A killing gear if ever there was one."
"Were in R (mode) now, and weve hit 100mph in about 10 heartbeats. No official performance figure exists for that increment, but expect an 8 second 0-100ph time. Its fast, alrite - 60mph comes up in 3.5 seconds, the standing quarter in 11.7 seconds and it goes onto 197mph."
"The GT-R is all aggression on the outside. To my eye, it is a phenomal-looking machine, distinct from everything else. Very japanese and very hard."
"Driving these two cars back to back, its not long before you realise that the Nissan makes the Porsche seem old-fashioned. The GT-R is truly extraordinary."
"For all round ability, i have no doubt the Nissan is the best car i have ever driven. Its a solid car you can rely on when the going gets tricky."

It is a stupid discussion, pingu : the M5 is confortable, has a large boot .. With it you can travel for 600 miles and still feel rested .
The Nissan is .. Only an asian car .

For me i would definately pick the GTR over the M5. Even over the M6. And considering it's in both price ranges, i would pick the GTR even more. For all those that think it's just anoth asian i would love to see the look on their faces at a stoplight when they are with their women in the car. "Ohhh of course honey! It's just another asian...ahammm...it's just some rice car. I will not even bother to take it on" PFOAHAHAH
