I know most you folks are not avid fans of NHRA like myself but the racer Scott Kalitta, son of the legend Connie Kalitta, died in qualifying today. I will post the tragic video when it comes available.

As with most racing trying to harness 8000 HP is a tough thing to do at times.

holy crap i had to read it again.. my dad was there last weekend.. he won a few bucks.. i thought it was for last sat.. it happened today!!! damm.. i think i got tickets for the nationals coming up too.. bet theyll have a memorial or something in honor.. im not too good on all the names.. but i grew up in englishtown.. on weekends.. love top fuel dragsters, pro mods and funny cars.. it def changes the whole feel of racing on a night when someone gets hurt.. let alone dies.. condolences to the fam.. sad

I was at Englishtown last year and the year before. It is strange in that it is like a drag strip in a neighborhood.

I think the controversy will be the run off area. It is far too short at some tracks. Especially for cars going 300 MPH.

Nick is what I'm seeing there an actual wall at the end?? I agree that the track is much too short.
