the ONLY car on Earth is called:

BMW!!!

be happy Merz guy

Good luck mate, but let me tell you 2 things, first whatever happened was a fault of a **** truck, second my friend sold his "reliable" new E 280 as his was more in the service garage than by him, so he just bought a new 270bhp 525d Individual and he is coming to my place thanking everyday, for me this is a big success, hope to have you back soon

PS2. I skipped the v10 VW camelrider, than S type Jag and also the 330i cabrio, so now I have the best sedan ( not the fastest that is M5) but the best E60

Sorry man, didn't mean like that...but i don't get the move. I know your E60 was totalled, but weren't you insuered? Either way...the moeny oyu spent on a E 320 cdi couldn't have been spent on another E60? A 530d? A 525d? Whatever...?
I don't understand the move to mercedes...since you had before an E60 and i suspect you had what it took to appreciate it as the car it was (design, performance, handling and so on...)

BetterMakeWay,

I believe he went the more economical route/with luxury he was comfortable with. We don't have E-60d anything here in the US. I am sure he would have made that choice instead of the Merc if we did. But I am just speculating what his actions would have been. I do have to say that trading up for another vehicle is always hard to do. Especially when you have grown accustomed to what you used to have, and now have to settle for what you DO have. Personally, I hope he enjoys his new purchase, and that it treats him very well. Although I also do hope he finds his way back into a BMW in the future Just my thoughts

I was really looking into the Diesel E myself. I would have loved a E60 Diesel if it was offered in the US but our engine options are very limited. Good luck with the E-Class. I decided to stick with BMW because of my past history with it and I owe my life to one. Plus never had issues with any of the BMWs I've owned (knock wood). I have a few friends who had MB's from the last 5 years that had nothing but problems so I stayed with what I knew. The new E is a nice car and a great engine in a land with very few diesels.

Well I don't think anyone here is trying to disrespect you but you are in a BMW forum and traded in for a MB so what kind of answer are you expecting?

People have their opinions and for us we like BMW, it's natural. But do hope that after your experience with MB you would come back to BMW eventually, good luck.

P.S No one is trying to poop your party here, I personally hate MB so if I were to change to a MB it would be a step down for me. But hearing from someone saying how many Bimmer he owns (5 right?) and switching to a MB being a step up does make me laugh, if so why buy so many Bimmer and not even one AMG???

I am sure he will answer us with some more of his bull$***. Which is always a good laugh after a hard day of work

Enjoys

Obviously u have not been privy to the many, many discussions on the lack of diesel BMWs in the USA. Probably ten or more threads beating this topic to death. Maybe someday we get diesels. Meanwhile MB and others DO bring their diesels to the US.
