Your solution suggests a revolutionary war, mine suggests international, but wouldn't it be nice if your government decided to help you instead of themselves? Isn't that the point of this discussion? That you've pretty much been manipulated into resource shortages and an unsustainable economy? (Unless you plan on having revolutionary war, again, only to have the country you bled for fall into greedy hands, again.)

Nobody is suggesting another revolutionary war. Americans are much more sophisticated than you can imagine. We will get our power back through all the legal channels. You just have to have faith in what I'm saying and watch it happen. We've been in much bigger holes than this and we've managed to do just fine.

The only resolve is this ? every American needs to boycott every fucking Walmart and Sams Club in the U.S.! 95% of Chinese goods go the US and majority are for sale in Wal-Mart. Asians nation don't even buy China's cheap shit. Second, every American needs to call their Congressmen and demand a 20-25% tariff on all Chinese and India goods. PERIOD!

But most Americans will not do that? because they are passionate. They are passionate about there Paris Hilton, Sex in the City, microwaved foods, muffin top making delicacies, their beautiful cars, the McMansions? etc?

Exactly my point. Americans will wake up and start demanding American goods, and I predict this will happen in the next five years. This does not bode well for BMW, either. Thankfully, I can afford a Vette, so I'm not going to lose out on the "fun factor."

...when these manufacturers can't afford their operating expenses? [they'll scale back, or even shut down]
...when your employer can't afford to pay you? [you'll quit]
...when you can't afford gas for your Vette, or water, or food for your family? [you'll have to find other means]

Ruf's solution is noble, but late, considering an overwhelming (consumer & producer) dependence on cheap goods... from China... who is building huge reserves and practically funding your deficits... Take them out of the equation and see what happens... Your initial comment was:
So by this logic, China will maintain their U.S debt holdings, to keep their products cheap in the U.S., which implies the U.S is still buying them, which implies the U.S. people aren't demanding American goods, which implies continued profiteering by your "controlling class," which keeps you in this mess. Adversely, if China sells off their reserves.. well.. you know what happens..

America may, in fact, be too far down this road to pull a U-turn
