Fantastic photos! I'm very impressed with the quality of all three photos. I was told a camera is much like a grand piano, if you don't have the talent, having great equipment will help you only a little bit, but not enough for most to tell the difference. Its only once the equipment is in talented hands that you see how great the equipment is... and in my case, how far off the pace you really are.

Once again, outstanding photos. I'm green with envy.

I wanted to congratulate you on your switch to Canon, IMHO opinion being an amateur photographer, Canon is strides ahead of all DSLR camera makers. My escalation was from a Sony prosumer camera, to a Digital Rebel to a ID Mark II. I have NEVER taken better pictures more consistantly. I of course got the L bug in terms of lenses and therefore invested in a few of them but I just am happy that your results are so gratifying as mine very often are.

The 5D is a phenomenal camera....read really good reviews about it but havent really gotten a chance to play around with it.

someone had a quote in his avatar on a digital photo forum --- Friends don't let friends shoot Nikon.

Congrats and enjoy a great piece of equipment

Thanks everyone. I appreciate all the kind words. The camera continues to be fun and I need to get busy selling my Nikon gear.

Oh, the last photo wasn't as nice out-of-camera, it needed some local enhancements. This was the initial RAW conversion:

Photography is one part equipment, one part talent, one part know-how, and one part good fortune.

Hopefully I can get my car cleaned up soon so that I can shoot it again - I have only really been able to truly take serious pictures of it once.

Nice photo welcome to the canon world.
I have a 350D and this is good for a starter.

I also have a canon 850is which is very good too for my son and wife to use.
