I will post pics and gice a price if you guys are really interested.
As fas as the car - its a 1876 RR silvershadow II LWB - has not runin 2 years.
Got it when my father passed and did not run. Put $5000 into it and got it running - guy told me if I drove it everyday it would keep running. Next month I put $5000 into it and was told the same thing.
Again, I drove it every day and at the end of the month needed a new fueal pump, alternator, and ingition - total = $3700 -
So the car now sits in the garage.
Unless you own a Rolls you do not know how hard it is to get parts - and actually find a mechanic who knows how to work on one.
The car has a lot of GM parts and there is a guy in Berea, OH (not far from me) - who puts in a big block GM motor and with it comes GM elelctroincs and brakes, etc - so it becvomes a reliable car.
Not sure if I want to to this, fix it stock, or sell it (there is some sentimentality in the car) - OR do what my friend suggested and chop it up and put it in the basement
Drving a BMW is great, but everyone should drive a Rolls for a bit. Everyone stops you and wants to look in the car (at least here in Ohio) - In CA everyone probably has one so you probably do not get the same reaction.
To own a Rolls you do not have to rich - To drive one you do!!
As far as the condition I would say fair. One dent - and it needs repainted. Also the Leather roof needs replaced and I was in the process of doing this when the car stopped running and in all of NE Ohio I could not find anyone willing to touch it. Something about having to remove the windows and some brackets on the roof and if you mess those up it turns into a several thousand dollar job.
Also, the rear window leaks at the bottom, but I have found plenty of people willing to fix that - I guess it is a common problem.
The car is currently stock and spend the fisrt 20 years in FL - so no rust
This is a project car for someone with a lot of time, knowledge and love for the car. I still do not have the time.
If you guys are really interested just post here and I will respond with pictures and money if you are interested.
BTW, JonD - you have become famous - and my question is are those cars all yours? Let me know - I would kill for a chance just to wax some of those - and BTW I have prefected the ability to hand wax and leave no swirls marks on a dark car
Best to all of you - it is always fun to talk about the car.
