Please don't call a Mac PC
PC stands for Personal Computer. Why shouldn't he call it a PC? If you can't call a Mac a PC, then you shouldn't be able to call anything a PC unless it's an IBM since they were the ones that started it back in 81.

A Mac isn't a PC, it's alive!

I didn't call the Mac a PC. It was a copy & paste action from a website. I didn't bother to read it carefully before pasting.

I think that the common dichotomy is Macs and PCs (meaning Windows machines). But, yes, PC does mean personal comupter.

I wasn't referring to batteries or capacitors althought the former is mentioned briefly here with the rest of the issues...

Sorry this is a long post...

I dont agree with this article. I feel the core is based only on opionion. But it is normal in these days and times.

For my background, I sold to Apple's few Enterprise customers: Discovery Channel, Time Warner (Time Mag, Sports Illustrated, People, etc), NBC and National Geographic to mention a few. For my accounts I sold more in a year than three Apple retails stores combined.

In all these years there were a few bad rashes of computers that cropped up. But I look at the support a company like Time Warner needed to service and repair its nearly 15000 Macs that produced its magazines and news. The support staff for a Mac population is a fraction of that needed for the PC. We are talking for every 50 PCs a company needs 1 techie to support it. The ratio for a Mac is much higher. For every 470 Mac users you only need 1 techie!

Part of this success is around the OS. Mac OS is just so much better. The problems with security and viruses are just not there as of today.

When it comes to hardware. Dell, HP, IBM, and Apple all make great hardware. I own a Dell latitude that is 7 years old and still running. Any problems with these machines are rare. It is usually Windows that is taking a crap on the user.

This will be very discussion in the coming months and years when Apple deploys Bootcamp and is allowing Windows to run on a Mac. Will more problems crop up?

What I can say that shows up in every product is that every person there truly loves their job. I have not been at a company that everyone does not put their best into the product.

Can that be said at Dell? HP?

Anyway sorry this is a bit off topic.
