nice call.

KOBE AT HIS FINEST!!! screw the 4-6 shots he forced in the forth to try and get to 40, otherwise he shot near 50% and was DESTROYING EVERYONE SENT HIS WAY!!! THIS IS THE MVP.

What a way to start this series. It isnt over but couldnt ask for a better start!!! btw 2-3-2 is unfair.

on a side note.....david stern finally grew enough balls to fine the golden boy....

+1 on 2-3-2 being unfair!
that system favors road team a bit more than a home team.
To me at least, the way I see is if I were a away team, I would shoot for a split 1-1 for the first two away games,
then try to win 2 out of 3 home games then go for 1 more win out of 2 last/final away games.
While a home team, in order to establish an advantage of the series, you gotta sweep the 2 home games because
there's a good chance of losing 2 games of next 3 away games which gives a home team 3-2. If a home team splits
first 2 home games, then it could be in a difficult series of possible 2-2 or even 2-3 situation.

I was hoping for cavs to beat magics just for this reason. To me, away team on the finals have more advantage than a home team
for having 3 home games in a row.

However 2-2-1-1-1 system favors a home team too much. I guess 1-1-1-1-1-1-1 is the best system except it could be
too tiresome to the players

Disagree, 2-3-2 is a huge advantage for the home team.

Home team wins their first two home games and it is OVER. You then only have to win 1 of the 3 away games, then you get two home games to close out the championship.

well, everyone has their own opinion but once again I beg to differ.
What you said is not just for the home team. Any teams wins first two games regardless of home/away that team will win the series.
Good example is last year's. Celtics swept the first 2 away games and it was over.

What I said is, it is unfair to the home team when the home team DOES NOT sweep the first 2 home games.
They will face 3 straight away games, sports like basketball, it's very tiresome to the players(all the booing, loud crowd agains you etc).
And it's VERY likely to lose 2 away games. That makes 2-3 going home and has pressure to win rest of games to win the final.
Not that away team can't win 2 out of 3 away games but statistically, it's very hard.
If you just look at the stats, home teams usually win home games(look at how much lakers struggled against rockets in Houston compare to when they played at Staples center).
Houston could've won that series if the format was 2-3-2.

Like scenario I gave you, it will give a home team more advantages by doing 2-2-1-1-1 format.
BTW I'm not arguing with you, just giving you another point of view
I guess NBA is trying to make a much fair game as possible to give the away team 3 straight home games.

Anyway, go Lakers!!!
