I'm looking for storage .... around the 5TB range!

my front runners are:

1. DELL - AX100(i)
--> http://www.dell.com/downloads/global/produ...ax100_specs.pdf
2. APPLE - Xserve RAID
--> http://www.apple.com/xserve/raid/
3. PROMISE - VTrak M200i, M300i, 500i
--> http://www.promise.com/marketing/datasheet...Trak_102805.pdf

I don't mind going Fibre Channel, or iSCSI .. but would like to stay away from direct SCSI .... also iSCSI has a much lower initial purchase .... no switches .. special cables ... etc..etc..
and it has to have GOOD/GREAT support - I have never had an issue with DELL support, i always have the Silver or Gold support plans though.

Post up what you/your company uses for storage - please

Thanks,

i worked for emc and dell as an SE. pm me if you want more info on this subject. depends on how you plan to use the storage, will dictate what you might want to consider.

FC = databases, exchange
nas = file sharing
iSCSI = moderate transactions. newer servers has TOE nic card as standard, so it gets better everytime.

good luck,

daydok
