Well, I've been there for 3 times, once with an '89 911, once an '95 330i, and my former own car an VW passat 1.8T.
I live at a 2.5 hour drive from the ring, so going there for a sunday isn't very difficult.
Scary moments: well a few. Although i am used to speed as being an motocrooser, this is something different. Being on a circuit thet you don't know well (a 20 km lap), motorcycles swerving all around you at warp speed, porsches and other people who know the circuit a lot better, thats a lot more intimedating than the track alone.
Most tricky point of the track is fuchsrohre: storming down with 200 km+ in a left-right-left combination, you need serious confidence in yourself and the car.

Yes, the whole track can be tricky sp. when partly wet, but driving around with common sense can keep you away from a lot of problems. After all, yearly about 10 kills on this track (mostly motorcyclists) is something to think about.
Time (don't laugh) about 10 min. in my neighbours Porsche.
Yes definetely i will go there to try the track with my E61 525d.

But not until i have my Hartge chip installed for 271hp/590nm
