I was watching the news today at work and this segment came on. Apparently this company mygallons allows you to buy gas at todays market price and no matter what the price of gas rises/changes to, the price of gas you pay is the price you locked in when purchasing their card...

How is this company going to stay in business if they are losing more and more income with every increase in gas prices???

They bought fuel futures for 10 years in advance?

+1. My understanding is that it works like a pre-purchase or co-op type situation where they buy at today's price (and earn today's profit) when you buy, then when you cash out, then sell their inventory at that day's market price. You basically are "fueling" their investment by loaning them money to play the commodities market.

Use Shell Gas Card and you'll earn 5% credit (from gas purchase) and 1% (from other purchases) for next month statement. It's the best card I've found so far. I save roughly $30-40/month.
