Regarding the back seat of the E60: I have a 2 year old. I had the E39 when he was born. I have the E60 now. I dont know if the rear seat is wide enough. I sat in the back once and I found it to be very cramped with the car seat installed. Maybe his seat is extra wide. I am a pretty skinny guy, so I know it's not me *LOL*
A 3 series would be worse.
Anyway, if you have not already bought a car seat for the baby, try and find one that matches your interior and something that is not too wide for better comfort (for your rear seat passengers). You will thank me later. :-)
