PS: I had my appendix taken out at Lenox and my son had surgery there when he was 6 years old, good hospital!

Looks like a venous malformation alright
a problem caused by a lack of sufficent smooth muscle in the vien so it has no tone and can't keep its shape so it becomes congested and engorged with blood. The pain comes from the abnormal stretching of the pain receptors in the vessels.

Mel good luck tomorrow. I am at home recovering from Back surgery I had on my Birthday last Friday. Best wishes to a speedy recovery. He will do do great! Thoughts and Prayers to you and your family.

I know how you feel when the kids go under the knife Mel. Our daughter had a small growth removed from her throat (size of a pea). Everything turned out fine. She was a trooper, it is nerve wrecking tho. Your family is in my prayers this morning...
