Thanks for all the kind words everyone!

Hercules is still with the vet and they are pumping him with fluids hoping that he pees.

What is confusing to me is how he got home. Our back yard is fenced in and even if he dug a hole to get back in, there is no way he would've been able to slip under the fence considering the shape is pelvis is in. My brothers and cousins were in the living room playing xbox when all of a sudden he appeared in one of the patio doors. I was the only one out in the rain looking for him so when I heard my phone ring I sprinted home.

Because the way his pelvis is turned in, his nerves got pinched and for a little while he lost signal to the bottom half of his leg and that is why he was dragging it. He must've been hit once it started to rain a little because his road rash isn't THAT bad. Had he slip on the asphalt in this steamy weather, it would've been exponentially worse.

Anyways, I'm gonna go see him later... I'll keep you updated

He deserves a brand new BMW dog cover for the backseat of your E60, when he's back to his old self.

Hercules came home today!

He is doing quite well, especially compared to yesterday. When I went to the vets, they opened the door to our individual room and he hopped in an almost tried to jump on me. It was nice seeing him excited and with his tail wagging.

The ride home was a little rough, as was getting him situated. It takes him about 3 times to get comfortable when laying down. He just sorta stands in front of his bed for 10 minutes before he attempts to lay down.

His road rash has gotten much better, albeit his back left paw is still pretty swollen. I took him out when we got home and he definitely made up for his lack of bowel movements! I won't get into that too much...

But now he is in the kitchen sleeping in his little throne covered in blankets:

I'll keep up the periodic updates as he continues on his road to recovery! Thank's everyone for your kind words! It really is amazing how connected you can get to an animal. It takes a big toll when something like this happens to them...

People and pets ... form stronger emotional bonds than men and their BMWs!

I know how you must have felt when he was missing and agony of finding him after the incident. But it looks like all will be good and the little boy will be getting some much needed spoiling while he heals.

Great news! Looks like he's happy to be home.

Keep an eye on him for fleas. When I brought my cat home after a night at the vet, he had worms a few days later from the fleas he picked up at the vet's office. When I brought a worm specimen in to the vet's office the tech there said I must have picked it up walking in the grass or something. Needless to say I wasn't very happy with that answer.

Anyways hopefully your buddy will be up and running real soon!
