We tend to let my dog just roam our private development because he usually just chases things in and around our yard, but today after 2 hours of not returning and a thunderstorm coming I knew something was up.
I came home from work as it started to really come down and immediately grabbed my umbrella to go look for him. After about 10 minutes I got a phone call from home saying that he had returned.
He came in through our patio, dragging his back left paw. I guess he got hit and slid down the road (he has a good amount of road rash over his stomach).
The vet says that the prognosis is a positive one and that she's gonna watch over him overnight. His colon isn't punctured nor his bladder. When I opened the kennel door to say goodbye, he sat up and licked my hand which is a good sign
The picture is of his pelvis. If you can't tell, both sides are supposed to be like the right side...

Thanks for your concern
The vet just called a little while ago to say that he was up and hobbling around her house on 3 legs which is a great sign because earlier he didn't have control over his back left leg.

Oh my god!!!! Im so sorry that happpened.. I had that happen to my dog once in Brooklyn, she got off her leash and ran into the street and got hit by a cab that sped off. Luckily she was okay, kinda like your dog. Let him lick you lots and lots and please dont let him roam free anymore..
