Okay everybody,

My new 550i will be in the first or second week in June. I'm planning to have a special CD or something ready for my spirited drive home.

I need your suggestions for my "hurray! I got my new car and I love it" driving music. The first part of the drive is city with traffic followed by highway for about 10 minutes until home.

I'm open to any type of music as all types can work depending on the drive. I'll consider anything from the old theme from "Miami Vice" to some good old Led Zepplin or Queen. Don't forget the theme from "Shaft" too.

I'm sure there are plenty you'd just love to turn up and get into it. Let me know what you've found to be great driving music.

Thanks

How about 'Buck Rogers' by Feeder?

Lyrics include:

"He's got a brand new car Looks like a Jaguar It's got leather seats It's got a CD player"

or

Gary Numan - 'Cars'

or

Gene - 'A Car That Sped'

HTH

My advice. A CD with nothing on it and do not even switch that on. Just listen to the car. The engine working and nothing else (except maybe the tires and the cracking door rubbers )

If I had a V8, I would love to listen to the engine

If you want some music what about an old Ted Nugent tune "I can't drive 55"

Not sure how long your drive is but for me I would just go with the above suggestion. Listen to the sweet sound of the V8!

Seeing as how you're from Michigan, I'd say "Since They Wanna Know" by Obie Trice. He's a rapper under Eminem's label from Detroit.

The song has been on "Entourage" on HBO, and it's just one of those songs that makes you feel like the MACK when it's on. If you've seen the previews for this coming season of "Entourage" on HBO, you've heard the song, it's playing when they're on the rollercoaster.

I think there are samples from Van Halen in it - so it's not your typical rap song.

I think the MP3 is a free download from Obie's site. That's how I got it.
