You would like this car, I've seen at C&C in Charlotte. I can't find a pic of the motor but I recall its an LS2.

The classic purity of the Yenko Camaro:

"Don Yenko ordered L-78 equipped SS Camaros and swapped in the Chevrolet Corvette's L-72 427 in³ (7.0 L) V8. The cars came with a 4.10 rear end and heavy-duty suspension. The exact number of cars produced is not known; most estimates are around 50. Yenko also installed a fiberglass replacement hood similar to the "Stinger" hood featured on 1967 big-block Corvettes."

For a real modern musclecar, nothing beats a new Dodge Challenger SRT8.

Several weeks ago, I rented a Dodge Challenge R/T with the 372 bhp Hemi V8. It was outstanding. It would be even better with the 425 bhp SRT V8 engine. All the conveniences of a modern car with the looks and power of a muscle car. I have never gotten so much attention in any car I've ever driven. Truthfully, the throttle response and throttle predictability put my 550 to shame. The handling, of course, is not even close to a BMW in the twisties and sweepers. But muscle cars are not about the twisites. Here she is. I still miss her:

I still miss my Candy Apple Red 1990 Mustang LX 5.0. Such amazing off the line power.

My favorite muscle car (if you want to call it that) and dream car is: 1967 Corvette Stingray w/427 under the hood . Sexiest car America ever produced IMHO. Over 40 years later and it still looks contemporary and stylish

If you all want to get a good look at all varieties of Detroit iron for your future acquisitions (from the meek to the muscle), it's not too late to make your way to metro Detroit for this Saturday's Woodward Dream Cruise (15th annual I believe).

Beginning tonight, Woodward Avenue will be periodically @ a standstill as cruisers begin cruising and admirers fill all the business parking lots (from Ferndale through Birmingham). An awesome collection of EVERYTHING . . . . stock, chopped, blown, modified, etc. quite a collection to be sure.

Unfortunately, I've never owned a muscle car . . . my first vehicle . . . . one of the ugliest cars in the history of the world . . . a '71 4 door Arctic White (a bluish tint to the white paint) Mercury Comet. Its saving grace . . . . a 302 (never knew if it was a Cleveland or Windsor V-8) under the hood. Between traffic lights it was fast enough . . . but as for its performance on twisties . . . forget about it, near death experiences. I burned the snow tires off of it in a month's time (power blocking it at nearly every stop sign int town).

My Comet was followed by one of the last of the lead burners, a '74 Monte Carlo complete with landau roof, power windows & locks, a/c, swivel buckets and factory AM/FM. Under the hood a less than peppy 350 (5.7 liter) and it consumed gallons of fuel. Drove it from '77 - '80 when I bought a bare bones and new "X-car" Chevy Citation hatch back . . averaged 30 MPG and drove it 160,000 miles in 5 years (same clutch for the duration of my ownership).
