beggars beleif.
in my porsche it states every time on the sat nav (when you first select navigation) that the instructions are for guideance only and you must follow the rules and regulations applicable, and to use vigalance. you have to press the ok/accept button to proceed (pain in the perverbial, but now i understand why its there )
i remember in America a few years ago about a case where a guy bought a large camper van (whinebago type of thing)
and selected cruse control....then went in the back to make a cup of coffie.... the van then drove of the road and crashed
he suied the company and won...for not giving him proper instructions..WTF.
i bet his i-pod says...breath in...breath out..breath in....

We hade two sim. cases here in Holland lately;
1) a (female)driver drove her car down a flight of stairs onto a footpath and only noticed there was something wrong when she could not get up the stairs on the opposite side.
2) a driver drove his car into a river, off a boat ramp because he misinterpreted the satnav system...
One can only be silent when faced with complete morons like these....

I had similar advice from a navman portable navi unit once. I was in Switzerland driving on one of those roads that goes around the edge of a mountain slowly taking you up. You know the ones, where if you were to lose control you'd fall off the road and down the mountain. As I was following the road it said take the next left 100 metres ahead. Not only was there no left turn (there was barrier all the way along to stop people falling off the mountain), but if there was a left turn, it would be heading right down a vertical cliffedge. Needless to say I followed it's advice, turned left after 100 metres and plunged to my death.
