My Ride: 2008 BMW 535XI white
Model Year: 2008
the best thing from BMW is the engine, it last forever, i think you only need to worry about the transmission, if trans has no problem, then your car will last for long time, you can upgrade your brake, suspension, flywheel..etc, then your car will perform very good, looks nice, handle great, and your love
of course, all brands has one or couple cars that always break down, hope you are not the unlucky one, maybe you can get aftermarket warranty? but just in case it gives you too many troubles, then you can consider to trade in for no more headache
my plan: keep my 535XI as long as i can, AWD good enough in nyc for winter, big enough for family, so i will upgrade all parts to high performance if they break down

CPO 550 FTW!
I'd go new or almost new CPO
One thing is for sure. You can't lease a new E60 this March without toally gettimg hammered by BMW -- some of the worst residuals (way low) and money factors (way high) that I've ever seen from BMWFS for the 5 Series.

by engine i assume u mean the block itself, which might be true, although theres a thread about a 545 needing a new block and only having 50k miles but my friend, u got to take into consideration that everything thats attached to that block, from the fuel pump to the starter wont, my starter goes out on my truck its 150-190$ how much is your starter gonna cost... not to mention the transmission..

To me, it is just beginning to feel like I'm not getting my money's worth with this car anymore Guess used BMW's are just like this. As much as I love it, I may just have to let it go. I'll try a couple of dealers for quotes, I guess, and see if I can get a lease going quickly or wait till the end of April already.

What he said. I got rid of my car because it wasnt a coupe, and it wasnt fast enough. No matter what it wasnt going to satisfy ALL of my needs/wants out of a car thats why i got rid of it when i could. I sold it with the CPO warranty to get the most out of it.
