well no the softwaere is not new.
they had over a year to get the patchs and fixs done so microsoft are just coning us, that why dell is selling the old xp again.
the bata was out a long time, they could have used that to fix or patch stuff.
O well only 5 months to go until sp1.

I also found something unusual on my notebook runing vista. I dunno if it's the software's fault or the game's fault but when i tried to run Half Life in stamina mode (Intel 945 on board) it ran ok except for poor performance, and then i switched to Speed and went to GeForce Go 7400 but after the reboot the game froze upon loading the maps. And it did that like 9/10 times (only on speed mode-weird).
Anyway...it's for sure far from perfect. By definition Microsoft = crap, but i dunno for whatever reason i find it quite hard to get aquainted with Linux. Another thing i like about Vista is that you don't have to click on remove device from the system tray for every little USB thing you use (like for example a flash stick). You simply take it out. In XP you had to remove EVERY thing like that.
Bottom line: I wouldn't go back to XP not in a million years. I dunno if Dell did a good thing or not.

Yes but windows strongly recommends removing it first. That's why it remains in the system tray until you remove the device. Otherwise they wouldn't have bothered, wouldn't they?
BTW you play CS2?

Short question about Vista:
Can anyone help me get rid of Internet Explorer? Not necessarily remove it but rather deactivate it and stop interfering with firefox whenever i hit a link. Like when i hit a link in yahoo messenger window, or when i hit a link in a word document it automatically launches IE, even if Firefox is set as the default browser. Now i prefer Firfox by far but i cannot even remove IE since it doesn't show up in the remove programs.
How can i get rid of it? Is Microsoft trying to pull another hidden "monopoly"over the other browsers?
