whats wrong with debadging a car? I think it looks clean... But yeah maybe you don't like the "hidden identity" affect of debadging a car?

for us "debadgers" its pretty cool to "smoke" someone and they think its like a 550 or something, then later they're surprised thats its just a remapped diesel or something like that... i get a laugh out of it...

Driving on I-55 South bound yesterday, I saw this guy in a 650i convertable stuck with me in heavy traffic. The guy had 22" chrome rims and one thing that pissed me off most: A V12 badge on the side fender.

I kept looking and getting pissed. So I decided to let him know next time the car comes next to his that those badges are false. In a few moments my loaner LCI 528i came side by side and i honked at him and he thought I was gonna compliment on his car, instead i rolled the window and said "this is not a V12, that badge isnt right" - he kept looking at me as he didnt understand a word I said. After that i thought he was probably driving a 645i (which of course is a nice car too), but badged it to a 650.

I had to do this, it was a matter of honesty!
U so Crazy. Thats some funny Sh*t!

Had a great one on the M25 anti-clockwise between J25 and J21 today about 6.30pm GMT.

A black "06" plate E60 in the middle lane crawling in heavy traffic, i'm in the outside lane catching him.
I'm half asleep when all of a sudden i catch site of.............an M5 badge on the boot (trunk) lid!!!!!

As i passed him he gives me a smug grin until he saw i was laughing at him and shaking my head!!!

What a d**k!!!!!

I have done the same, 8 years ago Definitely not ever going to do that again. Now my 530d is debaged so most people are probably thinking it's a 520.

I've never understood why people do this

People who do their cars up to look like something more powerful but then you lift the bonnet!! What's the point? Surely it's better to have the power to back up the looks?

I've always preferred understated looks with hidden power hence why I always debadge my cars. I prefer 'sleepers' to cars that scream........."Hey, look at me, I'm powerful" then they put their foot down and pull away like an asthmatic ant carrying heavy shopping.
