I do that to M5's all the time... Lap them around the road... But the M5 I go against is parked...

It turns out that there are actually several videos on Youtube like that, comparing road cars, sport bikes and even speed boats against F1 cars. But the best F1 video I saw was
of Schumacher in the rain. The guy is like a machine!

Ummm a Bugatti Veyron couldn't probably keep pace with an M5 on some twisties. That car is a mess on track for the hype it gets. A Lotus that costs like what 100 times less could put that car to shame on a very twisted track.

Andrei, you might be surprised... The Veyron is very good on a track. It is the 6th fastest car around the Top Gear test track, for example, whereas the E60 M5 is back in 50th place.

Yes i saw that but for a car of 1000 BHP one could think it might or it SHOULD get top position or at least on the podium. Put that car on a much twisted track like Pau (France) and you could get a way different result.

It's considered a complete track having also very long straights where for sure the power of the Veyron should compensate for smth, yet still it just provides a "modest" time. The Corvette ZR1 driver would have time to stop the car, get out and order a coffee till the Veyron would arrive

I have seen Formula 1 cars live and in action, but I'm always surprised how tiny the cars are.
But very, very fast!

I don't know if the acceleration from 0-200 km/h or the braking from 300 km/h to 100 km/h
impresses me more, both are absolutely phenomenal.
And up to 5 G in fast turns.

Formula 1; the way fastest and most hi-tech racing cars in the world!

I don't think that time is at all representative. I believe it's from an Australian magazine doing one test back in 2005. I don't think there's any "official" time with a competent factory driver. The GT2 time had Walter Rohrl at the wheel, the GTR time (which is suspect, as no one else has got close to the Nissan time) had Nissan's factory driver in hot seat. Of the few cars to beat the Veyron on the Top Gear, track most were effectively barely street legal track cars. And more to the point, none of the cars that did beat it on the TG track can get even close to its top speed. The TG track isn't a walk in the park, it's a pretty good and reliable test. At the end of the day, no one buys a Veyron for its track capability, but it is still highly competent in this respect. It's an incredible piece of engineering.
