With Choppy101's thread on stolen wheels and associated other London and car park horror stories fresh in my mind, I'd really like to get some good input on where I could safely park up for a long weekend in 2 weeks' time.
I'm doing the Shuttle to visit my wife's relatives in the West End - Paddington/Chepstow Road area - and they have told me that parking in the streets in the immediate vicinity is for permit holders only. Does anyone have any suggestions for a safe (it's London, so cheap is out of the question) place for me to park up unmolested from a Friday morning to a Sunday afternoon? I used to park in my company's office in Reading and get the train in before, but that office is no more.

Just a suggestion - I sometimes travel to work in Reading so if you want to park there and take the train into paddington, one good place is the front space parking at the Crowne Plaza, Richfield Ave - it's free... It's approx 10mins walk to the station from there. If you want even safer parking, put it into the gated hotel parking and when you come back ask reception for tokens to get out else pay them for a days parking at ?10. Have a lunch or something in the hotel lobby bar then get the tokens for the parking

My Ride: 2007 E60 535d M-Sport Individual. Moonstone with extended Platinum Leather, Professional Nav, Piano Black Trim, HUD plus other stuff like 20" Hartge Classic 2's!
I'd park out of London centre! As a rule, avoid E, SE, and N postcodes. Sorry to all the people that live in nicer parts of these areas!!
