somebody here said it best, that the problems occur when you deviate from routine. . . so i take the wife out for dinner (no, that's not the deviation) and give the restaurant valet a bit extra to "keep the car out front." No problem as he proceeds to harshly buff the curb with both driver side wheels. While I watch. My wife drops one of her gems along the lines of "it's just a stupid wheel, let's go inside and eat." Long story short, argument (with her), no dinner, claim filed, yada, yada, yada. Oh well, it really is just a wheel, right?

BTW, some of the other familiar musings I'm subjected to:
"why are you washing the car, it's only going to rain"
"why do we have to park so far away?"
and "what's wrong with that space?"
"those tires cost how much?"
"what took you so long?"
"your car has a bigger trunk, why can't we take it to the dumps?"
and finally "go talk to your friends on the internet, they'll understand"
hopefully, you do!

Boy, I feel for you on the wheels. I think I'll pay them to let me park the car myself. I'd be curious to find out how many others have the same problem with the active steering.

I second that!!!!

Valet parking sucks big time. In miami it was everywhere. Luckily in holland I can park my car self because we don't have it anywhere.

My wife loves our E60 as she did her manual 1983 320is that we had for 13 years so she goes along with all the precautions we take for the E60 and doesn't mind the $$ spent to keep it perfect. She a great driver and is better at remembering directions than I am.

Am I a lucky guy or what?

That's driving directions (we don't have the NAV system). I don't think it was available when we got our ride.
