I was just wondering, do any of you here have owned both left- and right hand drive cars?
If so, what are your experiences?

I'm a pretty experienced driver (1,000,000 miles+ in every kind of vehicle on both sides of the road) but for some reason I cannot seem to get the same accuracy in my rhd E60 as I do in other cars.
Maybe it is because the windows are so high up, or because I'm afraid to kerb the alloys, but in thight spots like toll boots I still can't judge the width aswell in this car as I could in others.
Maybe I'm getting old...

Drove on the right twice (couple more times in the US but thats another story), although not in my BMW. Australia, and Bermuda very wierd feeling. It's worse when you get home!

I am very cautions when it comes to pulling up to say the drive-thru at the bank, the car feels wide. I agree Fred that it's the rims getting scraped and the high belt line that makes it feel strange.

I really feel as though the trunk (boot) is quite high as well. My wife is to the point that she hates to back up if there is anything even close (she's a tiny girl). Maybe this is the reason PDC is now standard in the US. I will surely get PDC on my next BMW, given the fact that I smashed the rear end once, it's the wisest choice.

The biggest problem I've found when driving on the right side of the car (or is that wrong side of the car? ) is that I keep walking up the the passenger side of the car, keys in hand...

The trick is, when somebody is watching, to just get in on the passenger side and pretend you're looking for something in the glovebox.
I've come out on that side ice scraper in hand in mid-summer a few times now..

I never owned a right-hand drive car, but I've driven both. Had to drive in Scotland (trucks and cars), New Zealand ( huge RV), South Africa and Zimbabwe (cars). I never had any problems, maybe because I was just too scared to make a mistake, so I was paying too much attention...
