I think people are downplaying the Artest signing. I mean if someone told me before last season we were getting rid of Ariza for Artest, and paying him less money. No way in hell I would believe him.

Ariza was nothing before last season. We stole Gasol and now we stole Artest.

Oh yeah, Phil if you actually think the Spurs are winning the championship, YOU ARE DREAMING! You trashed talked your way through the playoffs this year, even after your old man Spurs got eliminated. Then you trashed the lakers every series, saying they would lose every series. And you know what THEY ARE CHAMPIONS. God I hope we play the Spurs in the playoffs next year.

 

I was waiting for you in this discussion! Mitch is the man. Ariza was a 4th or 5th option who looked good because all the players around him took on the major roles and pressure. Artest for Ariza was a steal, now lets hope it works out as far as team chemistry is concerned!

IF the Spurs can stay healthy they will be a really good team. They have manu who seems to get to the rack whenever he wants (really streaky shooter from outside though), Tony who also is around the league high in points in the paint every year, Timmy is a machine, and now add a little more size, power, and experience with R Jef. Combine all these stars with solid role players like Gooden, and Mason Jr. They have a good shot but as one of the oldest teams, injuries to every key player in the past 3 years its going to be tough. A lot tougher in the western conference too because clearly the western conference is the best and every conference game is a battle.

Should make for a great regular season and an interesting race for the western conference...
