ehh, David, it is what it is... $150 bucks aint chop change, but again, small price to pay for no points... I think the last time I had to get my points shaved off the lawyer alone cost me $500 - hope it makes you feel better. But this was a LOOOOONG time ago - like 2002 or '03...

Congrats David! That's great news. $150 for peace of mind is well worth it. Glad it all worked out. ![Thumbsup](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/thumbsup.gif)

In europe there are no points assessed when you are caught speeding unless you are driving way over the posted limit (30kph over if I remember correctly). You just pay the fine and move on. No need to argue in court since they will have a picture of you in your car with the license plate clearly visible.
Too bad we don't have a system that efficient in the states.

Excellent outcome. $150 is nothing compared to hassle with the insurance rates, etc. On the one hand, it's a bit of scam to generate revenue. However, what if you couldn't "cut a deal?" You were guilty afterall. I really don't mind this sort of questionable practice as it has worked in my favor as well. A few years ago, I got a ticket for 39 in a 25, which is a Special Enforcement Zone here, thus a higher penalty. I was guilty, so in a "fair system," I would have had to take the points + $140 fine. As it turns out, they busted it down to a non-moving violation and charged me $196. It's a game, and you've gotta pay to play sometimes.
