Not that I have one for the car, but a 500GB should work as well right?

I've got a 160Gb classic.
What do you do with all of that space? I've got a 16GB iPod Touch. I've got 1900 songs, 1000 pictures, and 10 or so videos. I still have 5GB free, another 800 songs...

PS: The 1900 songs are from my 300 CD collection and 200+ songs bought online. I did make the decsion to not rip the whole CDs but just the best songs from each.

well, some people like to rip their music in loss-less (aiff or flac) format which takes up around 10 times more space than the regular 128kbps...others like to carry their entire collection with them all the time (some have a few 100 gigs of music...)

theoretically, the 3G network will not get any faster, rather a 4G, 5G, 6G so on and so forth will be implimented in the Human quest for speed as impatience grows.. shit can be streamed from your home PC now, but of course with time will come advancements in technology. one day you will have access to things you cannot fathom. i am only 26, but for you old geezers on here, could you imagine 40 years ago someone would tell you that you could check your email on the internet on your cell phone? no you couldnt, because i just said 3 words or combinations thereof that did not exist back then.

one day you will be able to frozzle while riding in a dunbarcan on if you have access to a winnagomar network.

And I assume you'll invent that.

Forty years ago, a room sized mainframe had 6MB of memory. A 250MB disk weighed 40 pounds and required a 70 pound magnet to move the heads, a 1200 baud terminal was a big thing, and the internet was a military secret in its infancy.

EDIT: Actually this was referencing a computer built around '71 that I worked with in '83-'84. A computer built in the '60s was lucky to have 256KB of memory and lucky to have any fixed disks.

The most compact computers at the time had 1k or so of memory. Even with that primitive technology, we did manage to get to the moon and back. Can't do that with an iPod (even though there's an app for just about everything else).

and the idea of "internetworking" later becomming the internet was an idea developed from MIT and UCLA labs. by 3 visionaries. it was of course made possible by a list of people and inventions to long to list, however a notible event in the development of the "internet" was On 6 August 1991, a pan European organization for particle research, publicized the new World Wide Web project. The Web was invented by English scientist Tim Berners-Lee in 1989.

dont let al gore see this, it may hurt his feelings
