When offroading you generally do what is called "Airing Down" your tires to about 10-15lbs of pressure. Unfortunately, at these low pressures loss of bead lock is more common. The trick you posted wasn't necessarily about inflating the tire as much as it was about reestablishing bead on the wheel. Trick works great when you lose bead lock on a tire when offroading.
