That was the situation a number of years ago (look at Clarkson's hair!!)

I believe they've modernised the test to incorporate two bends now
and in a car that will do at least 35 mph.

I wish they had that kind of driving tests here in taiwan! In Taiwan, the driving tests are really hard! You have to also drive into an S curved driveway with about 15 cm on each side to spare (or sensors will go off).... Drive into the S and back out as well. hell, I had to take it (my california license had expired) and it's not that easy.

This equips the drivers with the skills to weave into small alleys -- I'm really good now, give me 3 cm on each side and I'll be able to navigate through it!
