After smoking for 19 years and two packs a day I have decided to finaly quit. I just started my prescribed medication of Chantix. My sister who had a similar smoking history used Chantix and after a week she became smoke free. Its now been one moth for her and she cant stand even the smell of cigarettes. Wish me luck!!!

Good luck. I've been trying to quit for years (although I do not smoke in my car) I never heard of Chantix. What does it do?

Best of luck, you'll do it! I quit six years ago, cold turkey. Best thing I ever did...

Hey - Did you doctor just prescribe this to you? Any known side effects? I could definitely use this stuff as well. What does it exactly do to cure the symptoms?

That's exactly the same thing I'm going to say.

I've been smoking for 17 years and "quitted" 3 times but am still pumping those nicotine into my lung everyday. :'( I need help.

If I quit cold turkey, I will kill my wife and pretty much everything else in my path. I quit cold turkey 12 years ago on a stupid, drunk bet one night with my cousin and his wife. They quit for 24 hours...I quit for 18 months, but I was miserable for the first 2 months. I snapped at people constantly. My wife has made it clear that I need an aid when I quit. Cold turkey is not an option for me, with my personality. LOL!
