I think a Datsun 280z with a high horsepower turbocharged motor or a V8 in it will be fun to beat on. A flat black finish with some fender flares and deep dish wheels.

or

My project car that I gave up on. 1963 Impala with some hydraulics would be nice.

We're E60 drivers. Beaters are not even a consideration.

It's a money pit. I spent $20,000 on it already and it still needs more money. Still not in best shape. Hard to find a good shop that is trustworthy. Probably will do it myself in the future. Full frame off restoration.

Here's how she look when I got her.

I've been trying to convince my "bitter half" that we could use a second car - been thinking about an Acura MDX for that purpose.

But for a beater-beater, that I would truly love, I'd have to go with this Soviet rip-off of Fiat 124:
(this is, of course, a HIGHLY modified racing car pictured here)

here's a pic of it stock:

I've actually been thinking about importing one of these and throwing a nice little Honda 2.2 4cyl in it, or something comparable. It's weight is actually like 3000 pounds, so it'd be a real sleeper with a race cage and modded Honda four-banger on proper rubber and so forth... maybe some day I'll do it...

PS another good thread, OJ

Landrover Defender 4x4 - the best "normal" 4x4 there ever was.

Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo - tune the engine to about 600bhp for a grand or two.

Not that I need a beater though, I only have one car and I only put 9K a year on that

That'll be great for the 2 days it runs
